Binomial

A sum or a difference of two algebraic expressions, said to be the terms of the binomial, e.g. $a+b$, $5x-y^2/(1+x^2)$, etc. For powers of a binomial, i.e. expressions of the type $(x+y)^n$, see Newton binomial.
