A flow for which there is no heat exchange between the individual parts of the liquid and the bodies which surround it. If the flow of a compressed liquid is adiabatic and continuous, then the entropy of a liquid element is constant. If the motion is steady, i.e. if the characteristics of the field of the flow are independent of time, then the sum of the kinetic energy and the enthalpy for any liquid element is constant.
