Monodromic function

A single-valued continuous function in 
(except, perhaps, for poles). The term "monodromic function" was applied by A.L. Cauchy in connection with the necessity of subdividing the class of analytic functions (cf. Analytic function) into monodromic functions and many-valued analytic functions; at present (1989) the term has gone out of use.
