Stanton number

One of the characteristic measures for thermal processes. It shows the intensity of energy dissipation in the flow of a liquid or gas:

is the coefficient of heat emission, 
is the specific thermal capacity of the medium at constant pressure, 
is the density, and 
is the velocity of the flow.
The Stanton number is related to the Nusselt number 
and the Péclet number 
by the relation

The Stanton number is named after Th. Stanton.
