Decile

A value of at which a distribution function assumes values equal to for . If deciles exist, they give a fair idea about the shape of the distribution curve. The distance between the ninth and the first decile is called the inter-decile width, which gives an idea of the scatter of the distribution. A decile is a special case of a quantile.
