The article discusses the real-valued case, except for the last phrase: "while the values ... also belong to a topological space".

In fact I often saw similar things in other pages, where the definitions are a bit imprecise for my taste (i.e. some assumptions are not spelled out, although it is usually not that difficult to figure out what they are).
